Harpist and Composer

The harp has a long history of beautiful, delicate music, but it is capable of far more. Harpist-composers such as Carlos Salzedo and Bernard Andrès have done extensive work exploring the capabilities of the instrument and have established a new virtuosity including these sounds. Many harpists have worked to bring the harp out of the background and express the many shades of the instrument, such as Yolanda Kondonassis, Judy Loman, and Alice Giles. Concerti are a great way to break the harp out of its mold, and also surprise an audience. While we have our standard canon of solos, I am thrilled to also offer a variety of contemporary works that really expand the potential of the instrument:

As a relatively young modernized instrument, the harp is ripe for contemporary exploration. I love working with composers and believe that new music is highly important in the world of classical music. I have been fortunate enough to be involved in many new works, and I have a wide variety of solo and chamber music repertoire available for concerts.
